Coaching for what comes next
Let's write what's next.
At every inflection point, the work is the same. A crossroads, a forced change, a quiet question you can't stop asking. Clarify who you are. Shape the narrative. Find the courage to follow it.
How coaching works
Coaching can feel intangible from the outside. Here is what it actually looks like to work with me, from first conversation to the last session and beyond.
01
A free 30-minute conversation. We talk about where you are, what you're navigating, and whether coaching with me is the right fit. No pressure, no pitch.
02
In our first sessions, we surface what's actually at stake. Not the surface question, the underlying one. Values, identity, the story you've been telling yourself, and the one you want to write next.
03
Together we construct the decision architecture: what you actually want, what trade-offs you're willing to make, what permission you've been waiting for. You leave each session with concrete next steps.
04
The work continues between sessions, in the choices you make and the conversations you have. By the end, you have not just an answer but a way of thinking that lasts beyond our time together.
About Lauren
I'm a physician first. Allergist, immunologist, still seeing patients one day a week. Then a question about how clinicians learn to think pulled me into medical education and into building tools to teach reasoning. That work led to a TEDx talk, a Substack, and now a coaching practice.
What ties it all together: each pivot was a decision about what mattered, not what to abandon. That is the work I help others do now. Clarify the inputs. Map the trade-offs. Build the story that lets you choose, and live with the choice.
I'm not a coach who talks about transitions from the sidelines. I've lived every pivot I guide others through, and I haven't given up any of the parts that mattered.
"I gave myself permission. Now I help others do the same."
Who I help
Three people. Three turning points. The same underlying work.
01
Deciding on a school, a sport, a career path, or questioning whether the one you're on is still yours. You need clarity, not more pressure.
02
Successful on paper, restless underneath. You've outgrown something and aren't sure if you're allowed to say so. You are.
03
A door closed. A role ended. You didn't choose this chapter, but you get to decide what it means and where it leads.
The work
Whether you need deep coaching, help telling your story on paper, or a speaker who's lived the pivot, there's a way in.
For individuals
Deep, private coaching for individuals navigating a transition. We identify your story, clarify what you actually want, and build the narrative for what comes next.
→For applicants
College, graduate, medical, law: the personal statement is a high-stakes story. I help you find the thread, shape the arc, and write something true.
→For organizations
From TEDx stages to organizational offsites, workshops on permission, pivots, and the power of knowing your own story.
→From a recent client
"If you're in a career transition and feeling lost or overwhelmed, she is exactly the kind of coach you need in your corner. She meets you where you are, leads with heart, and helps you find your way forward."
On Stage
"Permission to Change" is about what happens when we give ourselves permission to question the story we've been living, and the courage it takes to write a new one. Born from the newsletter and coaching practice that inspired it.

Most of the people I work with came through a friend, a colleague, a mentor who saw them clearly and said, "you should talk to her." If someone in your life is navigating a transition, weighing a decision, or rewriting their story, sending them this page is one of the most generous things you can do.
