Career Reinvention Coaching

on your terms, not the inherited script

You've done what you were supposed to do. The good schools, the right credentials, the promotions. Now something is asking to change. Career reinvention coaching is structured, time-bound work for accomplished professionals who are ready to stop circling the question and start authoring what comes next.

Who career reinvention coaching is for

When the path you
built isn't the path
you want.

If you're reading this, you've probably done what you were supposed to do. The accomplishments are real. The dissatisfaction is also real. Most accomplished people don't need a new five-year plan. They need a structured space to figure out what they actually want next, and what specifically needs to change to get there.

The four phases

How a reinvention
engagement works

Most career reinvention engagements are 3 to 6 months and structured around four phases. The point isn't dramatic transformation. The point is alignment.

01

Inventory

We start with a clear-eyed look at where you actually are. Not where you tell people you are. Not the LinkedIn version. The real one. What's working, what's depleting you, what you've been pretending is fine, what you can no longer ignore. This phase is uncomfortable and clarifying in equal measure.

Honest assessment Naming what's true Stop performing

02

Origin

We trace where the rules you've been living by came from. Whose definition of success have you been chasing? Whose voice is in your head when you say "I should"? What have you inherited that you never actually agreed to? This isn't therapy and we don't dwell here, but understanding the origin of the script makes it possible to put it down.

Inherited rules Self-authored values Permission to choose

03

Experiment

We design small, real-world experiments to test new ways of being. Not big leaps. Small, recoverable bets. A different kind of conversation. A boundary you've been avoiding. A creative project you've been telling yourself you don't have time for. The point of an experiment is to generate data, and the data is what shifts you.

Small bets Real-world testing Behavioral data

04

Integrate

We turn what you've learned into structural changes. Sometimes that's a career change. Often it's not. Sometimes it's a redesign of your existing role, a recalibrated relationship with work, a new creative practice, or a redrawn set of priorities. The goal is alignment, not dramatic transformation.

Real changes Structural alignment Sustainable

How it works

Simple. No surprises.

Discovery Call

02

We Define the Work

If we move forward, we clarify the engagement: what we're working on, how often we meet, and what a meaningful outcome looks like for you.

03

We Do the Work

Regular sessions, real progress. The work is different for everyone. Some clients need to get unstuck, some need a plan, some need help telling their story. We go where it matters.

04

You Move Forward

The goal is never dependency. It's for you to leave with clarity, tools, and a narrative that's yours, and the confidence to act on it.

Is this for you

You might be in the right place if...

A note

This isn't for everyone.

Career reinvention coaching requires that you're willing to look honestly at your life, to question definitions of success you've never questioned, and to do the work of small, real changes. If that's the work you're ready for, let's talk.

Common questions

What people ask
about career reinvention

What is career reinvention coaching?

A structured coaching engagement focused on helping accomplished professionals navigate a meaningful career change. It's typically suited for people in mid-career who feel a misalignment between their current work and what they actually want, and who want a thoughtful process rather than a leap.

When is the right time to consider career reinvention?

There is no single right time, but common signals include sustained dissatisfaction despite external success, a sense of having outgrown your current role, an external transition (kids launching, role ending, milestone birthday), or persistent curiosity about a different path. The work is most useful before depletion sets in.

Do I need to know what I want to change to before starting?

No. In fact, most clients start career reinvention coaching precisely because they don't know yet. The work is to help you see your situation more clearly so you can author what comes next, rather than just react to it.

How long does career reinvention take?

Most coaching engagements run 3 to 6 months. Real-world reinvention often unfolds over 1 to 3 years after the coaching ends, as you implement structural changes you decide on during the engagement.

What if I want to reinvent without leaving my career?

Many clients ultimately stay in their existing career but redesign their relationship with it. They change what they say yes to, what they say no to, and how they spend their attention. Reinvention isn't always about leaving. Sometimes it's about staying with intention.

How does this connect to ikigai?

Career reinvention and ikigai are deeply related. My approach is grounded in real ikigai (not the popularized Venn diagram), and many clients find it useful to understand both. If you're specifically interested in the ikigai lens, the ikigai coaching page goes deeper on that framework.
