Career, Life & Interview Coaching for High Achievers
TEDx Speaker
At every inflection point, the work is the same. A crossroads, a forced change, a quiet question you can't stop asking. Clarify who you are. Shape the narrative. Find the courage to follow it. Whether that's career reinvention, leaving clinical practice, finding your ikigai, or getting ready for an interview that matters, we'll build the clarity and the story together, on your terms.
A real 55-minute session, free. No sales pitch.
From a recent client
"If you're in a career transition and feeling lost or overwhelmed, she is exactly the kind of coach you need in your corner. She meets you where you are, leads with heart, and helps you find your way forward."
Free community
There are two free Facebook groups. They are not the same room. Start with the worksheet, then walk into the one that is yours.
Free worksheet
Which room
are you in?
Start here
Both group missions side by side, so you know what each room is actually for. Then five questions worth answering before you introduce yourself: a Fact vs. Story split, the rule you never agreed to, and what nothing changing will cost you in two years. People who write something down first tend to post something real.
Then join the room that is yours
Both are free and there is no pitch. Permission to Change is open to anyone questioning the rules they inherited. Physician Moms at a Crossroads is for physician mothers weighing burnout, cutting back, or leaving clinical medicine.
Ways to start
Every option below begins the same way, with a free 55-minute coaching session. Nothing is charged and nothing is committed until we both agree the work makes sense.
Done-for-you writing
Application writing for jobs, graduate programs, and fellowships. Résumés, cover letters, and personal statements, written to sound like you. Not available for MD medical school admissions.

Four 55-minute sessions over 4 to 6 weeks. Best for a focused, near-term goal, or for testing the coaching relationship before going deeper. Can focus on a decision, a personal statement, interview prep, or a combination.
Most popular
Eight 55-minute sessions over 3 months, the core engagement most clients choose. Identity and story, strategy and decisions, and steady accountability, with enough room to do the real work at a sustainable pace.
For a bigger shift
Twelve 55-minute sessions over 6 months. Not just a single decision but a redesign of how the next chapter looks: deep clarity work, reauthoring inherited rules, and building the structures to live the change.
For organizations
From TEDx stages to organizational offsites. Workshops on permission, pivots, and the power of knowing your own story.
How coaching works
Coaching can feel intangible from the outside. Here is what it actually looks like to work with me, from first conversation to the last session and beyond.
01
A full 55-minute coaching session, free. Not a screening call — a real session. We spend the time on what you're navigating, and you leave with something useful either way. No pressure, no pitch.
02
In our first sessions, we surface what's actually at stake. Not the surface question, the underlying one. Values, identity, the story you've been telling yourself, and the one you want to write next.
03
Together we construct the decision architecture: what you actually want, what trade-offs you're willing to make, what permission you've been waiting for. You leave each session with concrete next steps.
04
The work continues between sessions, in the choices you make and the conversations you have. By the end, you have not just an answer but a way of thinking that lasts beyond our time together.
Why it works
Credentials only matter if they change what happens in the room. Here's what two decades of medicine, teaching, and reinvention actually mean for your sessions.
MD
Two decades practicing medicine means two decades of making high-stakes decisions with incomplete information. That's the exact skill a career pivot or a hard life decision requires. Not a metaphor, the same muscle.
Ed
As Assistant Dean of Clinical Skills Education, she trains physicians to think through ambiguous problems, not just recite conclusions. You get that same framework applied to your own decision.
Dx
Founder of ReasonDx, built from scratch after stepping back from full-time clinical practice. She isn't coaching you through a transition she's read about. She's lived it.
Tx
Her TEDx talk on this exact reinvention has reached a global audience. Turning a pivot into a story that lands, for a search committee or for yourself, is a skill she uses and teaches.
What Is Life Coaching?
Life coaching is a structured partnership built around one specific decision or transition, not a general checkup on your life, and not therapy. You bring the crossroads; the work is figuring out what you actually want and what's been stopping you from moving toward it.
It isn't about being told what to do. A coach won't diagnose what's wrong with you or hand you someone else's five-step plan. The work is yours, my job is to slow it down enough that you can see it clearly, and structure it enough that you leave with next steps, not just more thinking.
People usually come to coaching at a genuine fork in the road, not because something's broken, but because a decision in front of them is bigger than they can think through alone. Here are a few of the turning points I work with most ↓
About Lauren
I'm a physician first. Allergist, immunologist, still seeing patients one day a week. Then a question about how clinicians learn to think pulled me into medical education and into building tools to teach reasoning. That work led to a TEDx talk, a Substack, and now a coaching practice. If you're a clinician weighing a change, my physician coaching work is built for exactly that.
What ties it all together: each pivot was a decision about what mattered, not what to abandon. That is the work I help others do now. Clarify the inputs. Map the trade-offs. Build the story that lets you choose, and live with the choice.
I'm not a coach who talks about transitions from the sidelines. I've lived every pivot I guide others through, and I haven't given up any of the parts that mattered.
"I gave myself permission. Now I help others do the same."
Who I help
Three people. Three turning points. The same underlying work.
01
Deciding on a school, a sport, a career path, or questioning whether the one you're on is still yours. You need clarity, not more pressure.
02
Successful on paper, restless underneath. You've outgrown something and aren't sure if you're allowed to say so. You are. This is the heart of career reinvention coaching.
03
A door closed. A role ended. Often a clinician who gave everything to medicine and isn't sure what comes next. You didn't choose this chapter, but you get to decide what it means and where it leads.
On Stage
"Permission to Change" is about what happens when we give ourselves permission to question the story we've been living, and the courage it takes to write a new one. Born from the newsletter and coaching practice that inspired it.

Most of the people I work with came through a friend, a colleague, a mentor who saw them clearly and said, "you should talk to her." If someone in your life is navigating a transition, weighing a decision, or rewriting their story, sending them this page is one of the most generous things you can do.
